IIMaking things
Making things
Code behind the projects, robots, a café's website, and the things I do outside research.

Repositories & project notes
01 Private repository
platepath
A food-access planner: answer a few questions and it suggests food resources that fit your situation.
I started the initiative and built the planner, the matching logic and the editorial front end.
02 Private repository
photon-trace
A small Monte-Carlo ray tracer for a cross-section of a deep-UV LED: TE/TM dipole emission, Fresnel reflection and total internal reflection, running live in the browser.
I wrote the tracer: polarization-dependent emission sampling, Fresnel coefficients per interface, an absorbing p-side, and the escape-cone puzzle built on the same optics.

yorkline-pipeline
The research-to-publish pipeline behind The Yorkline: scrapers, de-duplication, school-name resolution, and a validator that fails the build if an article cites a source that isn't in the inventory.
I built the pipeline: collection, merge and de-duplication, selection, and the validation step that runs before every build.
Making things
CTRC Robotics
Mechanical/CAD Director & Lead Instructor
I direct mechanical and CAD design in Fusion 360 and coach VEX Robotics Competition teams, four of them international teams that reached the World Championship.
What I did
- I set the mechanical and CAD direction for the robots in Fusion 360: drivetrains, gear ratios and the mechanisms that have to survive contact.
- I coach ten VEX Robotics Competition teams through design, build and iteration. Four are international teams that reached the World Championship.
- The outreach side launched robotics clubs at five schools, taught more than 3,500 students, and raised $5,000 for SickKids.
What happened
The part I care about most is the teaching: getting students to the point where they can design the next robot themselves.
KŌFÉI
Café Associate & Digital Growth Lead
I built the website and social presence for a little-known takeout café while working behind its counter. Sales grew 278% over two years and it's now planning a second location.
What I did
- A Next.js and Tailwind site with the menu, the café's story, visit details and a clear path to order pickup.
- Alongside the site I ran the café's social media while working as a café associate.
- Over two years sales grew 278%, taking the café from little-known to planning a second location.
What happened
The café is now planning a second location.
Afinitune
Founder
I founded Afinitune to make financial literacy available to everyone. We present at community centres and speak at public events about how money actually works.
What I did
- Financial literacy shouldn't depend on who your parents are or which school you go to. Afinitune exists to make it available to anyone.
- We bring presentations to community centres, aimed at people who don't usually get taught this.
- We speak at public events to advocate for financial literacy that's open to all.
Beyond research
Little Lab Coats
Co-founder
Hands-on science for younger kids, built around experiments they can actually touch.
What I did
- I co-founded Little Lab Coats and help design and run its hands-on science sessions for younger students.
The Yorkline
Founder & Editor-in-Chief
A regional student newspaper covering schools across York Region. I lead student writers across multiple schools and edit the biweekly issues.
What I did
- I founded the paper, lead the student writers across multiple schools, edit the biweekly issues, and built its website.
Off the clock
Volunteer, lifter, guitarist
Every week I visit a senior home and help residents with activities. At home I look after my younger brother while my parents work. The rest of the time: lifting (bench is at 255) and guitar.
What I did
- Weekly senior-home visits, family responsibilities, and two hobbies with no deadlines attached.
